Lledr 2025
Monday - Day 1
We’ve arrived at Lledr Hall! On the coach journey we’ve enjoyed playing games with our friends, eating snacks or even taking a nap!
Once we arrived at Lledr Hall, we played a game to help us find our way around the centre, and work out what time breakfast is! Then we were given our kit: our walking boots, fleece, rucksack, waterproofs and water bottle.
Check out the photo wall of all photos to see at the bottom of this page!
We had our first dinner at Lledr Hall, the dessert of waffles and strawberry ice cream was very well received!
We are taking turns at clearing the table each meal, and setting the table ready for breakfast tomorrow.
Our afternoon activity was a lovely walk nearby. We enjoyed learning about different plants, including mosses, and choosing a route - extreme or regular. We had definitely earned our dinner once we returned!
After dinner we completed an orienteering competition in small groups. Once finished, we headed inside for supper before time in our dorms with our friends.
Tuesday - Day 2
Group 1 - Mrs Butler
We spent the morning on the low ropes and high ropes courses. We had a lot of fun following the assault course and completing the Indiana Jones Bridge.
Then this afternoon we went gorge walking. We absolutely loved the slide at the end!
We all put 100% effort in, conquering new activities that we'd never done before!
Group 3 - Mrs Linforth
We had a full day of exploring Rwhibach Slate Mine. To reach the entrance, we climbed up high and followed the track of the old slate carts. We explored lots of chambers and even had our lunch inside in a cavern miners used to use!
As a group, we crossed some water in a boat, we worked together to cross some rocks using our harnesses, and we experienced total darkness for a little while! We were so supportive of each other and worked as a great team to complete our mine mission.
Group 2 - Mrs Fisher
For our first full day of activities, we spent the morning gorge walking - walking against the current up the rocks.
In the afternoon we explored the low ropes and high ropes courses. There were many challenges we faced, particularly all the high ropes and enclosed tunnels.
So many of us achieved things we didn't think we could do today - particularly going in the gorge and tackling the Indiana Jones Bridge.
Group 4 - Miss Moran
In the morning we had so much fun kayaking and paddle boarding on the lake here at Lledr Hall.
For our afternoon activity, we went bouldering: squeezing ourselves through small gaps as we climbed up high through the rocks! We enjoyed working as a team and challenging ourselves.
Evening Activity
This evening we were desperate to have some chill time after dinner with our friends. We chose to play outside, do crafts in the classroom, or play games in the lounge. It's been a lovely evening! Supper soon!
Wednesday - Day 3
Group 1 & Group 4 - Mrs Linforth & Miss Moran
Groups 1 and 4 headed off together today to the Rwhibach Slate Mine. After the journey up the hill and through the forest, we entered the mine and found a chamber for our lunch. In the afternoon, we explored more and could choose to complete some challenges along the way: climbing and abseiling, a zipline across a deep pool of water, and a path alongside a deep pool. We had so much fun and pushed ourselves to conquer fears!
Group 3 - Mrs Butler
Today we went gorge walking. We worked as a team to climb up the rocks and then were really brave going down the slide at the end.
In the afternoon, we completed the low ropes assault course. Finally, we tackled the high ropes course. We were all so brave!
Group 2 - Mrs Fisher
Today we spent the day at the beach! We enjoyed paddling and exploring - we saw lots of crabs and jelly fish!
Along the beach we did bouldering activities, see our videos at the bottom!
Evening Activities
This evening, we spent half the time playing a range of games in the lounge... Uno, Connect Four, Chess, Dominoes, Marble Run, Lego and more!
The other half, we played the wooden traditional games that were made by the old caretaker. We had so much fun!
Thursday - Day 4
Group 1 & 3 - Mrs Butler & Mrs Linforth
Today we set off to Llyn Geirionydd, a huge lake a little drive away from Lledr Hall. We worked in groups to get the canoes to the water and attach them. Then we set off across the water and enjoyed challenges standing up whilst paddling! After a lovely lunch, we enjoyed skimming stones, headed across the water to a beach and made little campfires in teams - we hunted for suitable sticks and had a go at staring the fire. We loved toasting marshmallows on them. Then we headed back across the lake to the minibus where we loaded the canoes onto the trailer ready to come back to Lledr. After this we had lots of fun swimming / splashing in the water!
Group 2 - Miss Moran
We were the final group to go and experience a trip into an old slate mine called Rwhibach. Once inside, we visited lots of chambers, enjoyed our lunch. Then we climbed up a waterfall, inside the mine, and went higher and higher until we reached the top of the mine. The climb was next to a waterfall, it was amazing!
Group 4 - Mrs Fisher
Our final day was filled with adventures! We did gorge walking in the morning where we loved climbing up the rocks and even tackled the rocks that look like an elephant’s bum!
In the afternoon, we faced great heights on the rope courses and enjoyed completing the assault course too.
Evening activities
For our final evening at Lledr, it is traditional to have a campfire and enjoy some marshmallows! This year we enjoyed making s’mores too!
We’ve done most of our packing ready for the journey home tomorrow. So for the rest of the evening we enjoyed watching a movie together in the lounge! It may not have been as sunny as we had hoped but we’ve had an amazing time!
