Mindfulness Day

On the 18th January 2018 we all enjoyed a Mindfulness Day in school.

Each class visited a number of workshops thought the day. Each workshop promoted relaxation and being present. We enjoyed a day full of mediation, yoga, visualisation and laughing yoga to name a few. Take a look at some photos from the day.

We have created a booklet that you can download below which talks about Mindfulness and strategies you can use in the home.

Pupil Voice Feedback

We asked the children what they thought about the day.

Take a look at some of their comments below.

"I want to do more!" Y2

"It helped me with my bad dreams and thoughts." Y2

"I loved the day!" Y2

"The day helped me relax and think about the present." Y6

"It helped all of my worries go away." Y6

"I'm just so happy that I got the chance to have a day of peace.

I also think it improves children's behaviour by just letting them relax." Y3

Mindfulness Day Song

Created by Ray Y6

I can see clearly now the glitter has gone.

All the anger and fear had gone back to where it came from.

Mindfulness Day has helped me in a fun way.

Next year I hope we do it again, I pray!

Creating funky beats is certainly a treat.

Self -esteem yoga is calm and neat.

Meditation requires concentration.

All the colourful glitter jars remind me of stars.

I can see clearly now the day is done.

I can manage my feelings in my own way.

We really love this day!

Please accept this song.

It will help stop you doing wrong!
