Lledr 2023

Monday - Day 1

After a smooth journey to Wales, we arrived at Lledr Hall and were excited to explore our surroundings. This afternoon, we went on a lovely walk!

"This is the best walk ever!" and this is only the beginning.

We enjoyed our first tea and then prepared for our evening activity: orienteering! In teams, with interesting team names, we practised following the map before locating stamps round the Lledr site. Then we had a lovely supper before returning to our dorms, we're very tired after such an excited day!

Tuesday - Day 2

Group 1 - Mrs Fisher's Group

We started our morning with lots of fun on the Jungle Gym course, where we worked in teams to make it across. Then we spent the afternoon in the sea at Black Rock Sands. We loved surfing so much!

Group 3 - Miss Rogers' Group

We had a wonderful walk up Conwy Mountain today, with views of Conwy Castle on our journey there. We enjoyed the amazing views, felt like we were flying in the wind, and helped each other along each step of the way.

Group 2 - Miss Moran's Group

What an exciting start to Lledr - surfing the waves at Black Rock Sands! We braved the waters of the North Sea and had so much fun playing in the water. Then we went on the low ropes at the Jungle Gym this afternoon.

Group 4 - Mrs Butler's Group

This morning, we went gorge walking in River Lledr. We enjoyed climbing all the rocks and jumping into the water. In the afternoon, we braved the High Ropes courses. We all conquered our fears, encouraged each other, and had a go.

Games Night!

We had lots of fun this evening with numerous exciting, unique wooden games that are at Lledr Hall!

Wednesday - Day 3

Group 1 - Mrs Fisher's Group

This morning we had lots of fun climbing up the gorge on River Lledr. We had so much fun jumping into the river! Then this afternoon we were extremely brave on the High Ropes challenges.

Group 3 - Miss Rogers' Group

We spent our morning working as a team to complete the Jungle Gym course - one challenge was to work out how to open the tunnel entrance further up the hill! Then in the afternoon we went to Black Rock Sands and had so much fun playing in the sea and experiencing surfing along the waves. Some of us had a go at standing up on the surf board!

Group 2 - Miss Moran's Group

Today we went on our mountain walk, where we witnessed every type of weather! Minutes after we'd made it to the top, the heavens opened. We returned back to Lledr a little damp, but enjoyed hot chocolate before more time on the Jungle Gym.

Group 4 - Mrs Butler's Group

In the morning we learned how to surf on the waves at Black Rock Sands - it was so exciting! Then in the afternoon we dried off before exploring the Jungle Gym course. We were excellent at working together and managed to do so many of the challenges such as the rope swing!

Wednesday evening!

This evening we had our usual tea in the dining hall together. We have been practising skills in tidying away plates, setting the table, with each of us having a turn this week.

After tea, we started our Movie Night with the huge projector at Lledr.

During the movie 'interval' we headed outside to roast marshmallows on the campfire.

Then we watched the rest of the movie, with an extra special supper before bed... a treat for our birthday boy!

We are having the best time!

Thursday - Day 4

Group 1 - Mrs Fisher's Group

Today we had our final great adventure: the mountain walk! We enjoyed the amazing views and then returned to Lledr for even more fun on the Jungle Gym!

Group 3 - Miss Rogers

In morning we headed to a tributary which feeds into River Lledr. We worked together climbing up the gorge and enjoyed a slide to finish our adventure! This afternoon, we braved the High Ropes course where lots of us were fearless to the different challenges!

Group 2 - Miss Moran's Group

We started our morning from great heights on the High Ropes course. We loved the challenge of the Indiana Jones bridge! In the afternoon we did our final activity - gorge walking. We loved climbing up the rocks and waterfalls!

Group 4 - Mrs Butler

For our final day, we set out in the sunshine to climb the steep incline through Gwydir Forest Park in Betws-y-coed. We saw so many animals on the way including baby toads and a fascinating ant colony!
