Lledr Hall 2017

Our first day at Lledr!

Wow! Our first day and we have already managed to pack so much in! When we arrived at Lledr Hall, we ate our packed lunches in the dining room before familiarising ourselves with the grounds of the hall with a code-cracking game.

Due to the exceptionally hot weather, we were allowed to go for a swim in the river, this was very refreshing. After our water fun, we were treated to a delicious three-course meal of tomato soup, burgers and ice-cream before getting to grips with our new walking boots by going for a 5km walk.

By the time we got back to the Hall it was time to relax and get ready for bed, but not before celebrating somebody's Birthday! Happy Birthday Oliver H, and thanks for the cake!

Day Two - Tuesday

Our first full day dawned bright and sunny - the children were up and raring to go after a hearty cooked breakfast. The four groups split up and completed a range of activities before meeting back up at Lledr Hall for a swim in the lake before tea (Sausages and mash). Once we'd finished our chores of tidying our dormitories and the kit room, there was just enough time for a game or two of football before we got into our pyjamas and celebrated Krystian's birthday with yet another delicious Lledr Hall cake.

Group 1 - Mrs Dumbleton and Mrs Mann

Our intrepid group set off for a canoeing adventure on Llyn Padarn in Llanberis. We ended the day with a splashing good time jumping off the jetty into the lake.

Star of the Day - Bradley - for conquering his fear of swimming in the open water.

Group 3 - Mrs Butler

This morning we tackled the super tricky Fisherman's walk - a new activity for 2017. Then we walked the gorge of the Afon Gwyn (White River)

Star of the Day - Miguel - for being extremely kind and considerate towards others.

Florence Nightingale Award - Eryk - for being super brave.

Group 2 - Mr Holcroft

This morning we had great fun on the Jungle Gym, followed by an afternoon tackling the Fisherman's walk.

Star of the Day - Jacob - for great team work today

Group 4 - Mrs Fisher

This morning we went gorge walking in the Afon Ddu (Black River) we even had to climb up a waterfall! This afternoon we went orienteering, followed by a swim in the Lledr river.

Star of the Day - Jack - for giving excellent instructions to others and being very helpful

Day Three - Wednesday

Another beautifully sunny action-packed day in the Conwy Valley; everyone had a delicious breakfast of pancakes and bacon before heading out onto our activities.

This evening we had a campfire and toasted marshmallows before celebrating Mollie-Mae's birthday with another delicious cake.

Group 1 - Mrs Dumbleton and Mrs Mann

We started the day with a gorge walk up the Black River Gorge. All the children did brilliantly, even climbing up the waterfall and through the 'elephant's bottom'!

This afternoon we did the Fisherman's walk - the children quickly learnt to use the equipment to navigate the tricky rock face.

Day Four - Thursday

Slightly less sunny today, but still no rain! We had a breakfast of sausage and spaghetti hoops before setting off on our activity sessions.

Group 1 - Mrs Dumbleton and Mrs Frost

We completed the Jungle Gym this morning. Then went on a walk up the valley to the river beach, where we ate our picnic lunch before having a paddle and skimming stones. This afternoon we joined forces with group 2 for our orienteering session.
